Caius chuckled at the young gir’ls attempt to petrify him. “I will teleport us to where Etro is. Patience Serah. Also, where is Noel? Do you intend to leave with out him?”

“I don’t know where he is… my partner and I were separated during our fight with…

“Hmph.” With a sarcastic tone Caius looked over towards Serah. “Lead the way Farron.”

Yeul took hold of Caius’ hand, sighing in relief.  She was thankful that they had chosen to take the peaceful route, rather than yet another endless battle.  She had seen another vision of the future… but she didn’t feel her body breaking down as it usually did by now…

Perhaps by journeying together to find Noel—and to save Lightning… they were truly, truly changing her fate.

“I don’t know where he is… my partner and I were separated during our fight with some monsters.” Serah stated, tilting her head slightly. “We might run into him later on.” 

Closing her eyes, Yeul nodded, a small smile quirking on her lips.  ”We will..” she nodded.  ”He is not far..”

Caius saw the pink haired girl inch closer towards them. “Save?” He laughed at her. How can finding her sister possibly save them? Only killing the goddess will set them free. “Our freedom shall come when we eliminate the goddess, and with your sister standing guard over her we are enemies. Unless she backs down, I can not help. I am sorry.”

“No Caius, you’re wrong! Taking one step closer is better than just trying to do something! If my sister backs down and comes home with me, then you’ll have a chance against Etro. Help me win back my sister, and Etro is yours.” Serah said. In the back of her mind, she began to formulate a plan that would stop Caius from hurting the goddess and save Yuel as well. For now, the pinklette had to pursuade the both of them to follow her…

Yeul was far more willing to follow Serah than her moderately stubborn protector, whose hand she squeezed gently.  ”Perhaps it would be for the best that we do as she says, Caius…”

Caius looked over his shoulder to see Yeul. Her eyes full of worry. “Yeul…” The fear in her eyes was enough for Caius. He wanted to save her, save them from this curse, but what if releasing the curse never pleased Yeul? ”All I wanted to do was to make…

Caius shifted a little and looked over towards Serah. “You are right, we arent exactly enemies…but I can not let you interfere with the timeline.” The warrior thought of his precious Yeul having another vision and leaving his side once again. He can not let it happen again.

“Not only am I the guardian of the timeline, I’m also the guardian of Yeul. The more you tamper with the past and future the more visions Yeul will have. You should know Farron that your life as well will be shortened if you and Noel continue to change time. Your death will be waiting for you on the other side.”

Caius was oblivious to Yeul’s stance, but once he looked over towards his Seeress he grabbed onto her shoulders and gripped them tightly.

“Y-yeul?!”

“I… I’m fine…” she forced a smile up at him, waving her hand dismissively.  ”It’s alright, the feeling has passed…” she assured him.

Caius looked over his shoulder to see Yeul. Her eyes full of worry. “Yeul…” The fear in her eyes was enough for Caius. As he looked away from Yeul he glared at his pink enemy.

Is she admiting defeat? Is she tricking me? Or is she simply just telling the truth…

“Your sister is in Valhalla, protecting the goddess Etro. She has become a slave rather than a guardian and is risking her life day by day to watch over her. It was her decision alone.” With a huge sigh Caius put Ragnarok back to sleep as he walked over to Yeul. ”I am sorry. It seems you are not the only one who wishes not to fight.”

Serah threw her weapon in the air, making it vanish inside the purple clouds that formed. She would call on Mog later, the pinklette didn’t want to involve her friends in what she would be asking her enemies next. Taking a cautious step forward, the time traveler looked at Caius straight in the eye before shifting her gaze over at Yuel, transmitting a somewhat subtle message that she hoped the seer would understand. Please help me with this…

“Caius, I know we aren’t exactly allies… but I need you and Yuel’s help. Please help me free my sister… and I promise that I’ll stop time traveling.” Serah said, her face determined. Of course she wouldn’t turn her back on the world, the pinklette would think of something if Caius approved to go with her. 

Yeul received the message—certainly a result of both of them being Seeress-es, and nodded somewhat, as she looked up at Caius slowly, before again returning her gaze to Serah.  ”How do you propose to save your sister, Serah?” she asked softly, shifting uncomfortably as she wobbled somewhat, frowning.  No… not now..  she thought wildly, shaking her head as she fought the feeling inwardly.  Not a vision, she told herself.  PLEASE no visions…  

Wishes can come true, but not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves, here and now.
